A downloadable game for Windows

[Note - Apologies for the use of assets and lack of levels. I had much less time than I had hoped for this jam.  ]

This is a VR game for all headsets.  My main intention for this project is to see if people like this movement system. [ Very much a demo]

You have shown up for an interview, yet have been abruptly thrown into a simulation. Play as a god and try to complete the company's competency evaluation. 

You are able to traverse the world at ease and scale it to your liking. You have set a straightforward goal. Protect Barry on his way to the pub. However, you have been limited in what objects you can interact with and can only interact with them once. This is for the examiner to judge your quick thinking and general competency.

Controls: (Should work with all headsets.. but I was only able to test on a HTC Vive)

  • Move around by grabbing and pulling the world using the grip button on either controller or both at the same time if you want more speed.
  • Scale the world by grabbing and pulling the world up or down. ( Hopefully, this will feel natural with the movement)
  • Interact with objects by reaching out and pressing the trigger. 

Tips:

  • The Lightbulb Icon means that the object can be interacted with.
  • The face icon shows where the main character Barry is.
  • The direction icon shows the location of the pub, Barry's goal.

  • "Polygon City" - Buildings, vehicles and characters
  • "GUI PRO kit - fantasy RPG" - To spice up the UI a little.
  • "Bakery" - Easier to bake lighting
  • "Fantasy cartoon vfx" - The smoke effect when a car crashes.

Install instructions

Extract the zip into a folder and run the "The Competence Evaluation VR.exe"

Excellent work!

I love the graphics and how the controls shift the world.

Does only level 1 work? I'm using a Quest2 and the number 2 statue turns green when you hover on it but nothing happens when you try and select it (unlike with the statue of 1).

Are you doing more levels after the Jam? I can see lots of room for new statues.

Thanks for playing and for the compliments! Yep only level 1 works, for now,  I ran out of time aha. I will probably not continue this project, as it was more of an experiment with the controls. But I will work on something similar :)
